The Three Legendary Arches of the Côte d’Albâtre


From our campsite on the Normandy coast, discover the unique rock formations of Étretat. The Porte d’Aval and its Aiguille (70 meters high) are the most famous, immortalized by Impressionist painters Claude Monet and Gustave Courbet. The Manneporte, which means “great gate” in Old French, is the most imposing of the three arches. The Porte d’Amont, with its cliff in the shape of an elephant drinking from the sea, offers a unique panorama of the English Channel.

From marked paths along the seafront allow you to walk along the cliffs and admire the exceptional panoramas of the Côte d’Albâtre. These hikes, accessible to all levels, offer spectacular views, particularly from the top of the Amont cliff where the Notre-Dame-de-la-Garde chapel stands.

From the campsite, the GR®21 awaits you. This famous long-distance hiking trail runs along the Côte d’Albâtre for almost 190 km, from Le Havre to Le Tréport. Etretat is a key stop on the GR®21. Voted one of France’s favorite itineraries, this customs trail offers breathtaking panoramas of chalk cliffs, pebble beaches and valleys (river valleys that carve out the cliffs).

Accessible from the campsite, it allows you to go hiking directly from your accommodation to discover Étretat, Yport, Fécamp and the picturesque villages of the Normandy coast.

And for more unusual accommodation, our cabadiennes plunge you into the heart of nature, while offering a touch of originality. Perfect for hiking and cycling couples.

Activities and entertainment for the whole family

At Les Pommiers campsite, young and old alike can enjoy a variety of activities throughout the season. Children have fun on the playgrounds with trampoline and inflatable structure. A kids’ club for 5-10 year-olds is available in high season.

Petanque fans will be delighted by the boulodrome, where regular tournaments are held. Table tennis, table soccer and billiards are also available for convivial moments. Fitness sessions and various sports activities are offered in summer to enhance your stay at our family campsite by the sea in Etretat. In the evenings, a number of themed events will punctuate the week in a calm and relaxed atmosphere.

The campsite offers services to make your vacation easier: bread and pastries in July and August, snack bar and takeaway, convenience store with local produce, laundry with washing machine and dryer, etc.

How far is the campsite from the sea and Étretat?

Camping Les Pommiers is just 2.5 km from the center of Étretat and the beaches of the Côte d’Albâtre. By car, you can reach the famous cliffs in less than 5 minutes. By bike or on foot, it takes around 15-20 minutes to reach the beach via pleasant paths.


What beaches are accessible from the campsite?

From our seaside campsite, you have easy access to several beaches: Étretat beach (2.5 km), famous for its cliffs and its Aiguille; Vaucotte beach, wilder and accessible on foot; Yport beach (3.5 km), a charming fishing village; and Fécamp beach (8 km) for water sports.


Does the campsite have a swimming pool?

Our campsite doesn’t have a swimming pool, so we prefer to offer peace and quiet to all our guests. However, the immediate proximity of the sea (2.5 km) and the beaches of the Côte d’Albâtre means you can enjoy swimming in a natural environment. Public swimming pools are also available less than 10 km away.


Is it possible to hike from the campsite?

Absolutely! Our campsite is located in the immediate vicinity of the GR21, the famous hiking trail that runs for 190 km along the cliffs of the Côte d’Albâtre. You can set off directly from the campsite to join this customs trail and discover the spectacular landscapes of Normandy. Tours are available for all levels.


Is the campsite suitable for cyclists?

Yes, our campsite has been awarded the “Accueil Vélo” label and is just 500 metres from the Vélomaritime. We offer facilities tailored to cyclists: secure bike shelters, bike maintenance facilities and on-site bike hire. The region boasts some superb cycling routes along the Normandy coast.


Are pets allowed at the campsite?

Yes, pets are welcome at Camping Les Pommiers (except categories 1 and 2). All we ask is that you present an up-to-date vaccination certificate on arrival. So your four-legged friends can enjoy the Côte d’Albâtre with you!
